Welcome to Software.Land. By using this application, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

Use of the Site

You agree to use Software.Land only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others.

If Software.Land content is scraped for any use, including sharing with others (verbatim or transformed), attribution via hyperlink must be provided.

Paid subscriptions

If you create an account, paid plans are offered through Stripe checkout. Plan changes are handled in Account billing:

• New subscriptions are started through Stripe checkout. Self-serve subscriptions renew at the billing interval shown at checkout until canceled.
• Upgrades apply immediately and complete only if payment succeeds at that time.
• Downgrades apply immediately. Any prorated credit is applied toward a later invoice.
• You can cancel a self-serve subscription so it ends at the close of the current billing period, and you can resume it before that period ends.
• Some plans may require contacting us instead of self-serve checkout.

Changes to the Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Those updates will be posted to this page.

Privacy Policy

Introduction

We value your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

We collect information needed to operate Software.Land, including:

• Account and sign-in data, such as your account email and linked identity-provider details when you sign in.
• Session and security data, such as recent sign-in activity and limited network or device metadata used to protect the account.
• Billing and payment data needed to provide paid plans. Card details are processed by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers on Software.Land.
• Analytics data about how the site is used.
• Waitlist contact information if you ask to be notified when account capacity is available.
• Optional email-preference choices if you opt in to product updates or promotional messages.

Account access

When you sign in, we store limited account and security data needed to operate authentication and account security features. This may include:

• Account email address.
• Linked sign-in provider data (for example provider name, provider user ID, and provider email when provided by the identity provider).
• Session records (session ID, creation and expiration timestamps, revoke timestamps/reasons, and recent activity timestamps).
• Network and client metadata tied to auth/security events and sessions, including IP address and user-agent string.
• A derived device label from the user-agent (for example, browser and device type summary such as "Chrome (Desktop)").
• Security and login activity records (event type, timestamps, and related security details).

Supported sign-in methods include Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon, and Microsoft. Email sign-in is available when that option is enabled for the site.

How We Use Your Information

We use this information for:

1. Account access: to sign you in, keep your session working, and let you manage linked sign-in methods.
2. Security: to protect accounts and the service from abuse, unauthorized access, and similar risks.
3. Payments: to start and manage paid subscriptions through our payment processor.
4. Analytics: to understand and improve how Software.Land is used. When analytics is enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 for that purpose.
5. Capacity waitlist: to record your email if you join the waitlist and to notify you when we can support more accounts.
6. Optional email: if you opt in, to send product updates or promotional messages through our email provider. Security, billing, and essential account messages are sent separately and are not controlled by those optional preferences.

Cookies and browser storage

Software.Land uses cookies and similar browser storage to operate the service. These are used to:

• Keep you signed in and restore your session in this browser.
• Associate security activity with this browser profile.
• Allow signed-in requests to reach protected application resources.
• Measure site usage when analytics is enabled.

You can block or clear cookies and site storage in your browser. Doing so may sign you out or limit account features.

Sharing Your Information

To operate Software.Land, we share information as needed for sign-in, payments, analytics, optional email, hosting, and security. That includes:

• Identity providers you choose when signing in.
• Stripe, which processes payments and subscription billing.
• Google Analytics, when analytics is enabled.
• Our email provider, currently Mailchimp, when you opt in to optional email messages.
• Infrastructure and hosting providers needed to run the site, APIs, and related security controls.

Those providers also handle the information they receive under their own privacy policies.

We may also disclose information to comply with the law or protect our rights.

Data Protection

We take measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

Account Deletion and Data Retention

When you delete your account, we immediately disable account access and sign you out on all devices.

As part of the deletion flow, we remove linked sign-in methods and replace the account email with a non-identifying placeholder.

Some records may still be retained for security, fraud prevention, billing, tax, legal, or compliance reasons.

Your Choices

You can choose not to provide certain information, but this may affect your ability to use some features of our site.

You can manage optional email preferences in your account when signed in, and you can delete your account from the account settings danger zone.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Those updates will be posted to this page.
